Neel Prakriti
Keeping the simplicity alive and holding onto her roots, Rashi Shah has taken inspiration from the Indian traditions, where the notion of Divine is a complex interplay in the between Purusha- the Self, the Spirit and Prakriti- Nature, the undifferentiated matter of the universe.
In addition Shakti (power) is recognised as the energising principle of the Universe, an abstract supreme power and the cosmic Mother out of which all creations come out, one of which is the incomparably beautiful Prakriti (the nature), the sole of this collection. NEEL PRAKRITI! A homage to her homeland, India.
“Neel Prakriti has only led me to ponder infinity, about both the physical and the astral world. And being able to think of and stick to the simplest ways of expressing it has truly been the challenge, especially in times when simplicity has become complex to achieve. In this collection we have picked the most straightforward and direct elements and developed it further through the process.
Flowers. Leaves. Birds. Animals. Water. Sky. What’s could have possibly been an easier yet powerful way to portray the dynamic Prakriti.”
Keeping the Indigo in mind that’s playing the lead, the multitudes of glass bugle beads, crystals piled with traditional Indian embroidery techniques like zardozi, nakshi and shishawork done by the karigars has played a major role in this collection. Creating this series of flowy tradition-rich denim sarees has been nothing but the truest way to communicate the essence of India’s rich culture and heritage.
